HNC in Business and Management

Course Outline

This course is ideal for those wishing to move into a career in management and business and is designed to provide an understanding of the nature of organisations, their management and the changing external environment in which they operate. This is a two year part time course franchised from the University of Glamorgan. The course is designed to develop knowledge, skills and competencies which will enable students to pursue a career in management. It provides successful candidates with a broad based business qualification.

Entry requirements

Mature students over the age of 21 need no formal entry qualifications. Students under 21 require 1 A level or a level 3 qualification.

What will I study?

HNC modules you will study include: Management & Organizational Behaviour; Marketing; Organisations, Competition & the Business Environment; Strategic Business Analysis; Enterprise Management; Human Resources and Management of Financial Information.

How will I be assessed?

You are assessed through both individual and group assignments, written examinations and oral presentations.

Career Opportunities & Progression

Successful completion of the HNC allows students to progress to a HND or Foundation Degree or other professional qualifications.
