NVQ Level 2 Administration & Office IT and Welsh Baccalaureate

This 1-year course is designed for students who already possess qualifications or some experience in administration and who wish to progress and prepare for intermediate qualifications to office/business standards in order to seek administrative positions. You will undertake real work experience within our NVQ Virtual Reality Company or in industry and attend Trade Fairs, developing employability and entrepreneurial skills. Alongside the NVQ programme, you will also study the Welsh Baccalaureate, where you will explore a wide range of areas including how Wales ?fits in? with Europe and the rest of the world, a language option such as sign language, and also how to be enterprising within an employment context. You will also develop Key Skills, which are integrated into the course.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements will be Level 1 Business & Administration or equivalent (previous administration experience can also be accredited). You will be invited to attend an interview.

What will I study?

You will study: NVQ 2 in Business Administration - 2 Mandatory and 3 Optional units. The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) New Text Processing Business Professional Award Level 2: Text, Word Processing, Medical or Audio. You will also study the Welsh Baccalaureate core modules with the Key Skills of Communication, Application of Number, ICT, Working with Others and Improving Own Learning.

How will I be assessed?

NVQs will be internally assessed and externally moderated. All NVQ qualifications are competence based and assessment takes place as an on going process throughout the course. Modular Awards are external examinations held in February and June. Welsh Baccalaureate and Key Skills assessments are via portfolio evidence.

After successful completion of this course you could study for an NVQ Level 3 Administration and Office IT.
