City & Guilds Computer Aided Drafting 2D CAD

Course Outline

This 1-year part-time course is suitable for anyone wishing to work in Draughting or Design and who need to be trained in a ?state of the art? Computerised Draughting package. They are also suitable for existing or potential students who would like to update their CAD skills using industrial standard software packages. One to one machine access will be available to students throughout the course.

Entry requirements

Previous knowledge for the Level 2 ? 2D CAD, though advantageous, is not necessary as we start at a relatively basic level. It is however assumed that candidates will be familiar with elementary drawing terms and conventions. Learners for the Level 3? 2D CAD should have successfully completed the Level 2 programme or be able to demonstrate competence at an equivalent level/qualification. It is assumed that candidates will be familiar with elementary drawing terms and conventions.

What will I study?

The course will lead to City & Guilds Awards at the appropriate level. The software used will be AutoCAD software running on compatible PC?s with all necessary ancillary equipment to produce and print AutoCAD drawings.

How will I be assessed?

The assessment for this programme will take the form of a number of practical assignments designed to meet the criteria of the course. The underpinning knowledge and understanding will be assessed by a short multiple choice question paper.

Career Opportunities & Progression

After successful completion of this course you could progress to the City & Guilds Computer Aided Drafting 3D CAD, you could also seek employment within the draughting or design industry
