This 1-year course provides the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to work in the Hospitality & Catering Industry.

Entry requirements

You will require 4 GCSE passes at grade D or above. In addition you will be invited to attend an interview.

What will I study?

You will study 12 units of a practical and theoretical nature, these include: Nutritional & Special Diets; Kitchen Operations; Prepare & Cook Sauces, Soups & Stocks and Prepare & Cook Meat, Poultry & Fish.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed by a series of practical assessments, on-line multiple choice tests and externally set assignments.

Career Opportunities & Progression

After successfully completing this programme you may be able to progress to NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery or you could apply for a post as a Commis Chef.
