The course offers OCN qualifications in Getting to know your digital camera, Taking better photographs and the digital workflow.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, although being able to use of a digital camera would be an advantage.

What will I study?

You will study: Basic digital camera use for Compact and D-SLR cameras; Learn theory and through practice, camera settings controls, exposure & their application in the medium of photography; How to take more appealing shots utilising better composition and Importing to a PC, basic image manipulation with Adobe Photoshop, back up and printing of images.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed by your tutor on your work on an ongoing basis. There will be no examinations, just continual support and guidance. You will need to produce a portfolio of your work which will be externally assessed and when satisfactory will be accredited with an OCN qualification.

Career Opportunities & Progression

On successful completion of this course you could progress to the Photoshop year 1 course.

Term 1 - 30 hours (1 session per week, over 10 ? 12 weeks) Term 2 - 30 hours (1 session per week, over 10 ? 12 weeks) Term 3 - 30 hours (1 session per week, over 10 ? 12 weeks)
