BTEC Foundation Learning Tier ? Engineering & Welsh Baccalaureate

Course Outline

This 1-year course is a Level 1 qualification aimed at providing progression to college mainstream qualifications at Level 2. Alongside this course you will also study the Welsh Baccalaureate, which is equivalent to 1 A level. Due to the structure of this course, on completion you will leave the College with 2 qualifications equivalent to 3 A-Levels, greatly enhancing your future opportunities.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course but you will be invited to attend an interview.

What will I study?

You will study 3 Core Units relating to employment in Engineering, 2 Personal Skills Units, and 3 Vocational Option Units. For the Welsh Baccalaureate you will explore a wide range of areas including how Wales ?fits in? with Europe and the rest of the world, the health of the nation and how to be enterprising.

How will I be assessed?

Your assignments will be assessed both internally and externally.

Career Opportunities & Progression

After successful completion of this course you could progress to an NVQ 2 or First Diploma in Engineering.
